Meet Eddie
Eddie Austin was fired into this world at top speed and hasn't stopped since. Born in Southern Florida and baptized in E85, if he found something that could move faster than he could, he had to have it. At a very young age Eddie got into cars and boats, and wasn't scared of getting his hands dirty on the mechanical side.
His love for speed and passion for performance kept him heavily involved in motorsports through several decades before his passion became a business enterprise. Now, Eddie and his wife Jenni own seven businesses, some catering to the world of speed, all of them built with their respective communities at heart. Their most recent acquisition is what has landed them on the blog and what I want to focus on this week!
Life Knocks, Hard
His local Evansville shop, Hard Knock Cycle, was brought into being in July of last year, the newest in a series of serial ventures that have taken Eddie and Jenni across the U.S. and back. Hard Knock Cycle is where Evansville Performance Powersports used to be, and as you can see the place looks AMAZING. Now Eddie can tell you himself it was no easy feat. Customer base was low when they made the acquisition, the facility had seen better days, and in general the economy was trash when he made the purchase.
Now, there is a social space for waiting customers equipped with lounging furniture, a pool table, tons of merchandize from local businesses to peruse and a true bike shop vibe that can only come from a place of knowledge and professionalism.
Vibe Check
One of the cool things I really like about this shop is the way Eddie interacts with his customers. He likes to showcase custom builds on the shop floor; projects for customers, racing builds, things that get patrons excited when they come in. Details like these help illustrate what can be done to a bike, inspire new projects and keep customers coming back to check in.

I got in with Eddie and Jenni when they first opened Hard Knock Cycle and have been rooting for them since day one. These are good people who do good work and are in it for the community and the growth. We have worked together to bring business to the shop and to help my brand Voidrabbit Apparel, and I look forward to working together more down the line.
